Last weekend, the first Global Game Jam was held, in 23 countries, with over 1,750 participants. GGJ brings together talented individuals and teams from around the globe and rallies them around a central theme, for which they have 48 hours to create their game.
The keynote speech (delivered via Youtube, of course) was by World of Goo creator Kyle Gabler. It appears below…
What a guy!
Here in Australia, only one city was represented – Perth. There, a number of teams gathered at Murdoch University, and their entries (like all others) are now downloadable via the Game Jam Browser.
Of course – (you knew this was coming) – I’ve already gathered screenshots & links for you… from the 5 Australian entries.
And once you’re tried those, there’s hundreds more to try from many corners of the globe…
To our Western Australian competitors/participants:
Great effort guys!
I hope the 2nd Global Game Jam (in 2010) has even more Australian gamers, cities & states involved. 🙂
