Around the world, gamers are battling the Bydo empire in Irem’s R-Type. And in a little Spanish arcade… a young boy has made it all the way to the last level! (Respect! I never made it further than level 4. -Ed) He’s excited. He’s hitting the buttons. He’s screaming at the enemies. And all the while, some bemused teenagers are laughing at him. “What a loco-malito!” they said. (If your Spanish is a little rusty, it means “little sick mad kid”.)

Classic videogames hit the stage

Philip: You like the theatre?
Moss: Never been. But I’ve always liked the idea of the theatre. The smell of the grease, the roar of the paint. I’ve often thought if I hadn’t ended up in computers, I would’ve gone into the theatre.
Philip: But you’ve never been to see a play?
Moss: No.
Philip: Why not?
Moss: [shrugs] Never had the interest.

That’s Maurice Moss, in one of the funniest IT Crowd episodes ever. But even Moss would enjoy a videogame-based theatre festival…

Wow, despite a zero dollar promotional budget, and many non-blogging demands on my time… JustOneMoreGame has just cracked Technorati’s “Top 100 gaming blogs”.

Thankyou to my ever-patient wife who puts up with my blog-related natterings, my son (“Player 3”) who wishes I’d let him hit the keyboard more often, and to you, my reader who makes all this stuff worthwhile.
